Can I contact NVFF if I do not know which program fits?
Yes. Veterans, family members, caregivers, and community members can start with a simple message. You do not need to diagnose the problem or choose the perfect program before reaching out.
Does contacting NVFF guarantee assistance?
No. Reaching out does not guarantee financial assistance, benefits, services, or a specific outcome. It gives NVFF a starting point to listen and help identify a possible next step.
Is NVFF part of the Department of Veterans Affairs?
No. NVFF is not part of the Department of Veterans Affairs and does not provide legal representation, medical treatment, mental-health treatment, addiction treatment, VA benefits, or official VA decisions.
Can a spouse, parent, child, friend, or caregiver reach out?
Yes. Veteran families and support systems are welcome to contact NVFF when they are trying to help a veteran or understand where to begin.
